The Treaty of Waitangi was signed on 6th February 1840 at Te Whare Runanga. There are different flags on each table and lots hung around the place. A Lot of the British women are wearing their beautiful long dresses matched with their elegant hats. There are some British people sitting on chairs and four men standing by the tall table with the British.
Two of the men look like identical twins. There's a lot more British people than Maori people. All of the Maori people are sitting patiently on the grass. I think they are sitting on the grass because they feel it is more comfortable. They are inside a big tent that looks like the colour of an egg. All of the British people look very royal and special. I see two men by the small table one is a British man and the other is a Maori man writing on the treaty. What is he agreeing on?
